  17. York. Anderson was the Middle East bureau chief for the
  18. Associated Press in 1985 when he was kidnapped by Islamic Jihad
  19. terrorists, who held him captive for nearly seven years. He met
  20. Bassil in Beirut in 1984, and their daughter Sulome was born
  21. shortly after Anderson was taken hostage.
